Recoat Gallery.1
The Recoat Gallery in the West-end of Glasgow is a devoted street art space run by ex-DOJ graduates Ali Wyllie & Amy Whiten. It opened in July 2007 and was the first and currently, only gallery to be exclusively feature contemporary urban art, pop surrealism and lowbrow. They also sell a range of prints, Jewellery, magazines & books.
Ali (Graphic Design) & Amy (Illustration) met at Duncan of Jordanstone in 2000. The main spark behind their gallery came from their exchange trip to New Zealand in 3rd year for a semester. They saw lots of work exhibited in the style of work they made and galleries devoted the the kind of work they liked themselves. So, in 2007 opened Recoat Gallery to accommodate the kind of work the kind of work they wanted to see.
The have exhibited work from highly acclaimed artists such as:
